Privacy-focused social platform

EverStory is a social media platform where people share stories, connect with friends, and post with real privacy controls.

Instead of building it as one monolithic app, we built it as independent services working together behind a single, seamless experience.

The Challenge

Most social apps are simple until they need to scale. Authentication, image uploads, and friend requests can end up fighting for the same resources.

The goal was to build a platform that felt fast and simple while the system underneath was structured for growth through independent services, isolated databases, and a gateway managing it all.

What We Build

  • Posts and stories — Create, edit, and share posts with granular privacy controls.
  • Friendship system — A complete friend request flow adjusts content visibility based on relationships.
  • Real-time updates — Likes, comments, and notifications arrive through live updates instead of page refreshes.
  • Smart image handling — Uploads are optimized and resized for each device without losing quality.
  • Polished everyday details — Dark mode, smooth loading states, and instant-feeling interactions throughout.

Under The Hood

  • React, TypeScript
  • FastAPI microservices
  • PostgreSQL
  • Kong API Gateway
  • Docker

Result

  • A social platform built with independent services and isolated data.
  • Privacy controls that give people meaningful control over who sees their content.
  • A gateway architecture designed to support growth without turning the product into a monolith.
  • Built and tested end-to-end, not yet deployed publicly.
